Superstar Christians and the Main Thing

It’s easy to pattern yourself after someone else’s success, ministry or even calling. Social media glamorizes so much and certain things are more public and easier to celebrate which creates a pressure on believers to perform rather than to operate from rest. The applause of the crowd when you tell them of another person that got healed or saved can in itself be so euphoric, or on the other hand, the strain to keep up the numbers or the finances can be so numbing, that you forget the main thing. You forget who it’s for and why you’re doing it anyway. In the shadow of superstar Christians the strain to keep up will distract from the main thing. You need to be sure of your own calling and mandate, and more importantly your identity.
When burnout and a lack of a secret life with God start to happen please heed it as a warning bell. When you find yourself competing against instead of completing each other, heed it. My heart is so burdened for burnt out ministers and tired Christians. My heart is burdened for your return to the wonder and delight of first love.
We can all do many things but our hearts only yearn for one thing.
Consciously turning your affections back to God and remaining hungry no matter how much you’ve received will help you stay on the right track.
I only have a few spaces left at One Thing Reset but I felt to post this so that if this speaks to you then you have a chance book your spot before it fills up. Come aside and allow a divine reset and refresh. Fight for and invest in fine-tuning your life and heart to God alone. Only He truly satisfies and your food will be to do the will of the One who sent you and to see that to completion (John 4).
Live authentically. #onethingreset
