A Place of Encounter
There is a sense of urgency now to come up “the Mountain of The Lord.” It’s a call up and a call in.
Ps 27:8 (Amp)
You have said, Seek My face [inquire for and require My presence as your vital need]. My heart says to You, Your face (Your presence), Lord, will I seek, inquire for, and require [of necessity and on the authority of Your Word].
God always calls us into His Presence, but right now a special call is going out for the beloved to come in. He has carved out a place for us and we must carve out time for Him. As we do that we will encounter Him. I saw a massive cave-like structure, but it was made from rich wood. The “walls” of the cave had beautiful, intricate hand-carved designs. It was not dark, but glowed warm and looked inviting.
I wrote these words in response to what I saw:
You’ve carved out a place for me
A place of intimacy
A place of encounter
Face to face we’ll be. . .
And there I come alive
I’m coming in. I’m coming closer. I’m coming up.
You’ve carved out a place for me
The place where I fit
The place where I belong
Face to face we’ll be
And there I come alive.
As I wrote this there was such a sense that God has called, He’s made ready and He is expectant!
On the mountain precious things get laid down, but provision comes. We die in a sense and yet come alive, we see God in new ways and talk to Him mouth to mouth. We breathe in heavenly atmospheres and come alive on new levels (and maybe even begin to glow in the dark). On the mountain we learn to know God by name, intimacy, revelation and experience. It’s there that we get the downloads that enable us to lead a nation or reform a people. It’s there that we who falter and stutter, or feel weak and afraid, become who we are truly meant to be. We never come down the same as we went up.
To each person going “up the mountain” looks different. Perhaps it’s carving out a bit of extra time before work or before bed to seek His face, perhaps it’s trading Facebook for face time with God, perhaps it’s skipping a movie to soak, or shutting out the world for a while for more times of prayer and meditation, or going on a spiritual retreat, or even up a literal mountain. Whatever it looks like for you it would be great for us to just start somewhere and as we taste, we will be drawn in for more.
It’s always been about you and Him. It’s always been about intimacy.
